Well aware of how fast the synthetic materials of the Fivefingers can stink up I have only been wearing my new Bakilas with socks. After about 3 months of running 5-6 days/wk (25-30miles/wk) my new Fivefingers still smell new. These socks are a lot thinner than the Injini socks (Injinji Performance Micro Toesocks to be more exact). You can sometimes see through them some around tight spots (like the toes) and they do feel a little cooler than the Injinjis brand in cold weather which could be a bonus for warmer runs. Even though they are thin they have held up well to numerous wash cycles and long runs. I think the fact they don't have a molded heal helps them wear well because it allows you to alternate which side gets the abuse from running in them. I prefer the "no-show" of the iniji socks so i can wear them around casually (instead of just for running). However, these are comfortable to run in because they are thinner/more breathable. The toes could stand to be a bit longer, but they stretched sufficiently where it wasn't too big of a deal. 1) These are longer and look/feel like dress socks (i have worn them with dress shoes before when i couldn't find any clean dress socks). 2) They are very breathable and comfortable to run in (ie thinner) 3) The navy isn't quite as dark as i would like 4) I've run >15 miles in a pair and they have not torn bottom line: great socks, and if they were "no-show" length, i would buy 12 more pairs. have to give it 5 stars, for cost (1/3 of famous brand) and for being true to description.
