This is in contrast to the 100% cotton Gold Toe products, which I find to have exceedingly poor durability and look shabby, faded, and ridiculous after just a couple of washes. (Uptown crews have a small % of nylon and spandex in them, which may be responsible for the superior performance, but be sure to take the instructions' suggestion and wash inside out.) I have always dealt with moisture issues** with traditional thinner dress socks (tried all material types and brands). Thicker socks tend to be the 100% cotton type which never seems to look enough dress, will color fade quickly, and do not last long. These Uptown cotton/nylon/spandex crew socks address many of these issues. They fit well, feel great, last a reasonable time, control moisture, and provide some extra cushion as well. Plus they do not look like just any "meh" black cotton sock. The only negative to these is the $17/3pack price, which is pretty consistent in stores and online.
